Green Down Place
Green Down Place is on Map 4d, but is not shown on the map. Green Down Place is a named terrace that forms part of Bradford Road. Green Down Place is on the south side of the road, just west of Green Down Cottages, running as far as the Forester's Arms (which is named on the map).
Green Down Place is also found under the name of Greendown Place. The City Engineer spells Greendown as one word, as does the 1937 and 1940 Post Office directories. I also found it as one word on a 1970 map of Bath. However, on a 2003 map of Bath, and in the 1937 Kelly's Directory, it is shown as two words "Green Down". I have shown both forms in the index, but have opted for the modern (and Kelly's) two word format on the individual pages.
