Green Down Cottages
Green Down Cottages is on Map 4d, but is not shown on the map. Green Down Cottages is a named terrace that forms part of Bradford Road. Green Down Cottages is on the south side of the road, just west of the junction of Combe Road.
Green Down Cottages is also found under the name of Greendown Cottages. The City Engineer spells Greendown as one word, as does the 1937 and 1940 Post Office directories. I also found it as one word on a 1970 map of Bath. However, on a 2003 map of Bath, and in the 1937 Kelly's Directory, it is shown as two words "Green Down". I have shown both forms in the index, but have opted for the modern (and Kelly's) two word format on the individual pages.
