Lansdown Place East
Lansdown Place East was damaged by the blast of a bomb that landed in parkland south of the road.
The above picture by Donald Stride is now in the Bath Library collection.
Lansdown Place East was lucky: trees and a wall provided some protection and the bomb that caused this damage was only a 50Kg bomb.
The chequered flag marks the position of the incident post where the designated officer in charge of operations could be found.
Lansdown Place East today, restored.
