The Abbey Church House was historically significant. It was one of the few building in Bath that pre-dated the Georgian developments.

The gap between Abbey Church House and the shop on the corner of Hot Bath Street was where the Project originally suggested erecting a monument, until that idea was wrecked by the Council Planning Department.
